Examples of realistic drawings
This is an example of the shadows and the values in proper placement on a Sphere with 2 light sources
Z= The Highlight is completely white. (no pencil lead should be placed here. Y = The Light shadow, the value is light. X=The Shadow, it can vary in value from medium values to dark values. It covers about 3/4 of the sphere. W = The Core of the Shadow, it is the darkest value on the sphere. This is because there is almost no light that can surround the area. S = Reflected light, is light in value and is located at the edge of the sphere. T = The Cast Shadow is not on the sphere of the ball. It is created on the surface the ball is sitting on. The value starts out dark at the edge of the ball and transitions to a medium value.
