Shape and Texture Units:
Our artwork will take four to five class periods to complete. We begin working collaboratively with specific directions given by an instructor. Then the artwork is place back into the original owners' hands. At this point each student creatively makes their work piece of artwork using different Elements of Design to enhance their work and make it uniquely their own. Lastly each student writes an "Artist Statement" about their process and why the different elements were chosen to complete the artwork. Use knowledge we have gained from the line unit to interpret/explain your work.
Materials: 9x12 drawing paper, Pencil, supply box, sharpie markers, eraser, color pencils.

The BIGGest difference between simple shape and form is:
Shape is FLAT and is described as two dimensional. Form is Three dimensional, or actual objects. Creating the visual of form is done with the element of space... (we will learn about that in the next unit.) Above and below are examples of Shape. (The smaller examples in the section below are demonstrating the idea of objects that are drawn: Space, this is what we will cover in the next unit. Space is the demonstration of objects on a 2D surface. It is simulating what we see in reality. ) |
